After graduating with summa cum laude honors from Lafayette College, with a bachelor's degree in biology in 1979, Leo Raisis completed his medical training at Thomas Jefferson University in 1983, receiving his M.D. degree as an Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society member. Following a general-surgery internship with Christiana Care, Dr. Raisis was an orthopaedic surgery resident at Drexel University Hospital of Medicine from 1984 through 1988 and has been in private practice for orthopaedic surgery with First State Orthopaedics ever since. With a subspecialty in total hip and total knee replacement and general orthopaedics, Dr. Raisis is preparing to retire after more than 40 years of orthopaedic practice.
